The Izumo Museum of Quilt Art is the first and sole quilt museum in Japan.
Our collection includes the work of Ms. Mutsuko Yawatagaki, one of the most skilled and renown artists of Japanese style quilting.
Visitors can experience traditional as well as novel styles of Japanese displays, Ikebana, and art works created from antique kimono fabrics, all strikingly presented in a traditional Japanese building.
The Izumo Museum of Quilt Art is located in the eastern part of Shimane Prefecture, only 10 minutes from Izumo Airport and 20 minutes from Izumo Taisha Shrine by car.
We welcome your visit to the museum, and hope you enjoy the aesthetic beauty of the setting of the museum as a whole as much as you do the quilt collection itself. |
